Lions Clubs International

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.

In 1925 Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become the Knights of the Blind, and since then Lions have instituted many programs aimed at preventable blindness. Lions also participate in other community health programs and projects, disaster relief, and community and environment programs, and local assistance.

Welcome to the Concord Lions Club

The Concord Lions Club proudly serves the Concord, Massachusetts community and Lions projects worldwide. Chartered in 1941, the Concord Lions Club is a member of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization. Our motto is “We Serve“, and Lions members generously volunteer their time to humanitarian causes, with a particular focus on service to the blind and visually impaired.

We Serve our community by organizing and/or participating in several community events: from luncheons for Council on Aging guests, to popcorn for Minute Man Arc March participants, to toys for Toys for Tots. We Serve our local Police and Fire through donations of needed equipment and supplies. We Serve local students through scholarships and glasses for those who cannot afford them.

We Serve the world by raising money for Lions Clubs District and International causes, from Massachusetts Lions Eye Research and the Clara Barton Camp, to LCIF causes and Lions Measles Initiative. We Serve those with vision impairments by collecting eyeglasses for distribution in third world countries.

Thank you for your support and for helping us Serve others!

Other Activities in the Community and Throughout the World

Mass Lions Eye Research

Helen Keller charged the Lions to be the “Knights of the Blind” and the Concord Lions help combat blindness through donations to the Mass Lions Eye Research Fund. To date we have donated well over $200,000.

Toys for Tots

Each year our current past King Lion Dan and his family have organized a Toys for Tots event, with which the Club is thrilled to help. Last year we collected well over 1000 toys and thousands of dollars for those in need.
