The Concord Lions participate in the Lions Recycle for Sight program. We have many collection boxes located throughout Concord and the surrounding communities. We regularly gather and sort the recycled glasses and then deliver them to Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers where they are cleaned, further sorted by prescription strength, and packaged for distribution. Most of the recycled glasses are given to people in need in developing countries.
In just about any dresser drawer, one can find a pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses that are no longer being used. That pair of eyeglasses can change someone’s life! If you have broken metal frames or glasses with missing lenses, they can be repaired, so please include them; please don’t recycle broken plastic frames. Drop off your recyclable eyewear at any of our collection boxes found on the map below.
